Valuing the invaluable
When the message is left on read. When the unknown looks inevitable. When the security is as effective as the rotten lock on the outhouse that silhouettes the sunset setting on yet another day of uncertainty.
God's blessings don't come with sorrow. Proverbs 10:22 tells us that the blessing of the Lord makes rich and he adds no sorrow with it. Yet why do we crave the double edge sword?
God's word is living, it speaks wisdom and truth, but what of deaf ears? What of our own desires?
Is he not the gardener who plants seeds of hunger into our souls? Do we not know how to nourish our spirit as our body requires?
Marcos ingested but what of those extra calories? What of the sugar that wasn't on the plan?
What of the fork, not the one holding the grilled chicken but of our future?
We dream, we fantasize, desires in our hearts and as Tom Illis’s signature phrase ‘what is your greatest desire’ asks we allow for vulnerability to take our souls. To allow for the crushing of hearts and sadness to cover us like the sorcerer's stone reveals the cloak that hides bodies we hide our softness for fear that has us running into chaos when faith has us walking into calmness.
History shows us he is a good father but what of seeking before the miracle? What of miss hearing or the fruit not bearing? what of the time not being right but what of the now? What of the waiting? The uncertainty?
What of the valley?
What of the pain inflicted? We call for grace, for covering for lucy attacks when we slip, but what if the oil leaked without us knowing?
What if the fire coming from the engine really did take the last of your faith courage?
We were born to be courageous
We were made to lead the way
We could be the generation
That finally breaks the chains
Crowns not casted onto deaf ears but filling cups where the bottom truly had so many holes.
Lyrics of hope, of accountability, of faith. For faith really is all we can hold in moments that the valley looks endless.
Have faith, child, I got you.
And he truly does.
We may not know what tomorrow holds, why this is our now, but our futures are what we build every day.
I choose kingdom, Every damn day.
